Information

We're really excited to celebrate with you! Here is what we have planned:

Timeline

6:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Arrive at the HP House. The earliest you can arrive is 6:30. There will be signs pointing you where to go!

7:00 pm - 7:45 pm

The wedding ceremony! The chairs for the ceremony will be set up outside, weather permitting. You may sit anywhere, although some seats in the front rows will be reserved.

7:45 pm - 8:15 pm

Brief interlude while we get everything set up for the party. This is a good time to grab a drink from the bar inside, schmooze, etc!

8:15 pm - 11:30 pm

Party! Immediately after the ceremony is done, we will have the reception with music, dancing, and buffet-style food. This will be largely unstructured, so feel free to relax and spend time with friends and family! You can find table assignments at the front, but you can move around or sit somewhere else if you'd like. If weather allows, you can also hang out outside.

Attire

Please dress in dressy casual or casual cocktail attire. This does not have to be strictly formal, but it should look like you’re going to a nice event-- feel free to dress cheerful, colorful, and comfortable. You can get creative or keep it simple-- the important thing to us is to have fun celebrating with you. We only ask that you refrain from very casual clothes like t-shirts, jeans, gym shoes, things with brand labels/logos, etc.

Be mindful of the weather, especially out of towners! May is sometimes a bit unpredictable in terms of temperature, and we are planning to have the ceremony outside before moving inside for the reception.

Lodging

Please let us know in the RSVP if you are interested in using a hotel block! We will follow up with everyone who is interested. The nearest hotels are about a 10-15 minute drive away, south of the HP House on Lake Cook Rd-- these include the Courtyard by Marriott ($92/night), Residence Inn ($89/night), Embassy Suites ($89/night) and Red Roof Inn ($49/night). Unfortunately there are not a lot of cheap AirBNB options in Highland Park, but you could stay in the city and travel by Metra.

Transportation

The community house is located at 1991 Sheridan Road, Highland Park, IL, 60035. Here is a link to Google Maps.

Driving directions from highway US-41:

Use the Central Ave exit, heading east. Take Central Ave all the way through the downtown Highland Park area, across the train tracks, and turn left onto Sheridan Rd. The HP House will be on your right side, on the block past Park Ave, right after The Art Center. The HP House also provides driving direction from other highways in this PDF.

Public transportation directions:

The HP House is 0.4 miles away from the Highland Park Metra station, which is about a ten minute walk-- very pleasant if the weather is clear. This is on the Union-Pacific North line which leaves from Ogilvie in downtown Chicago. Here is a link to the Metra UP-N schedule online. According to this schedule, there is a train that leaves Ogilvie at 5:45, which would arrive in Highland Park at 6:34.

Parking & Accessibility

The main entrance with stairs is on the north side of the building, on Elm Pl, and there is an accessible entrance with a ramp at the southwest corner of the building. The parking lot is located east of the building, between the HP House and The Art Center, which has approximately 30 spots. The handicap parking spaces are on the south side of the building (not in the main parking lot), right next to the accessible entrance.

If you have any questions about the facilities, please call the HP House at 847-432-1515.

Younger Kids

Please let us know on the RSVP if you are traveling from out of town with younger children (between infant and kindergarten age). We want to make sure you are able to enjoy the ceremony and reception, so we will follow up about childcare options based on our guests' needs. There is also an area in the basement of the HP House, which does not have dedicated childcare, but is a quiet space that children and parents can go to if needed.

Cameras

We politely urge you to not take your own pictures during the ceremony, using either cameras or smartphones. This will better assist our hired photographer in making sure we are getting great photos for ourselves and our families. But, most of all, the ceremony is the main and intimate part of the day, so we ask everyone to share the moment with us without any electronic distractions. If you want any photos of the ceremony itself, feel free to email us after the wedding. Thank you for your understanding!

Food

This is a Jewish wedding, but we cannot ensure that the food is Certifiable Kosher. We will also include vegetarian options in the buffet. Please let us know in the RSVP if you have a significant or severe food allergy.

Invitation

Our invitation doubles as an editioned risograph print illustrated by Talya! A big thank you to Liana Jegers for printing them.

About Us

We were only seventeen & eighteen when we met, and the road so far clocks in at eleven years and counting! Since then we’ve been growing up together, building our lives on funny & happy memories and adventures. We’d gladly stay together forever regardless, but getting married just makes it a little more official. Here are a bunch of photos from the past decade that show how far we’ve come and our love for each other!!

Honeymoon Fund

If you’d like to give us a gift, we have a honeymoon fund set up! Since we've lived together for a while, we have all the physical things we need, but something we've always wanted to do is travel overseas together. One of our dreams is to take a few weeks to travel all around Japan, something that we would never normally be able to do. You can use the button below to make this trip possible, and we would love if you let us know how you would like us to use your gift! If you would prefer to contribute with cash or a check instead, that's also very welcome!
